TODOS OS SENTIDOS - Nothing but flowers

Hoje começa a PRIMAVERA, estação que é tipicamente associada ao reflorescimento da flora terrestre. Foi aí que lembrei de (Nothing) but Flowers da banda Talking Heads que foi lançada no álbum Naked de 1988.

A letra dessa música descreve um mundo onde o progresso moderno foi revertido para um estado mais natural, devido a um movimento político, a um desastre global ou por uma necessidade de como lidar melhor com a superpopulação. Embora o protagonista possa ter sido uma vez favorável à transformação, ele se encontra agora perdendo as conveniências e a cultura do mundo moderno. Tudo a ver com essa fase virginiana que vivemos.

O engajado e interessante vocalista do Talking Heads, David Byrne, realizou uma versão mais breve da música na conferência TED 2010 acompanhada por Thomas Dolby no teclado e do quarteto de cordas ETHEL.
